Fundamentals of Vibration

This course provides fundamental concepts of vibration-based linear analyses along with practical applications through numerical techniques

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, student will be able to:

  • Extract frequencies and eigenmodes
  • Determine whether the number of extracted eigenmodes is sufficient to represent the structure's response adequately
  • Perform linear perturbation analyses for transient, steady-state, response spectrum and random response assessments
  • Understand the challenges and how to apply damping
  • Apply the concepts to solve practical applications
  • To use software as a tool for virtual modeling

Target Audience

  • Interns, New Graduates and Engineers / Scientists with or without work experience
  • Engineers / Scientists looking to broaden understanding in new applications / areas

Prerequisites

  • Bachelors or Masters – Mechanical / Chemical / Aeronautics / Civil / Basic Science
