Fundamentals of Fracture and Fatigue​

This course provides fundamental concepts of fracture mechanics and fatigue. It also covers fracture analysis using Abaqus CAE.​

Course Objectives:​

Upon completion of this course, student will be able to:​

  • Understand fundamental concepts of Fracture and Fatigue mechanics​
  • Identify the difference between LEFM and EPFM based approaches​
  • Extract J integral and SIF from FEA model​
  • Apply the concepts to solve practical applications ​
  • To use software as a tool for virtual modeling​

  • Bachelors or Masters – Mechanical / Chemical / Aeronautics / Civil / Basic Science​
