Responsible for articulating and selling value propositions within digital engineering, particularly related to physics-based simulation workflows for product and process design, manufacturing, and post deployment reliability. Focused on technical sales using mechanical engineering skills and understanding to support the sales side of our engineering services team. Understanding of engineering principles, numerical methods, scripting, automation, data analytics and machine learning applications in order to support technical sales. Analyze client technical needs and develop customized solutions using in-depth engineering knowledge, especially in simulation. Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to existing and prospective customers. Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, design, IT, and marketing to develop client-specific proposals and quotations. Interpret customer technical requirements and provide consultation during pre-sales and post-sales activities. Design and recommend tailored configurations or solutions based on engineering analyses and product capabilities. Support in contract completion and ensure technical specifications are accurately documented. Provide ongoing technical support to clients and liaise with engineering and support teams to resolve technical issues. Participate in trade shows, conferences, webinars, and client site visits to represent the company’s offerings. Use tools such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, project management platforms, and product configuration software to manage client interactions and proposals. Application of technical skills in engineering combined with a business development mindset to meet customer needs. Very minimal travel, less than 5%, to participate in trade shows, conferences, webinars, and client site visits to represent the company’s offerings. Requires Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field and 3 months of experience in the job offered, or related. 3 months must include experience in sales engineering, technical sales, or pre-sales engineering. 3 months must include experience in the following (1) hands-on experience in modeling and simulation; (2) leading technical needs assessments and solution presentations; and (3) Python Coding. Business Development Industry Specialist – GEOVIA

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Business Development Industry Specialist to support the growth of the GEOVIA portfolio across the United States and Canada.
This role is ideal for a mining industry professional who brings practical field or industry experience and can serve as a credible industry expert, sales overlay, and strategic advisor to support both sales and pre-sales efforts. The successful candidate does not need to be highly technical, but should understand mining workflows, business drivers, and customer priorities well enough to help position the value of Surpac, Whittle, and related GEOVIA solutions.
The preferred candidate will be based in Canada and will play a key role in supporting account development, customer engagement, and market growth across North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sales efforts across the U.S. and Canada as an industry specialist and business development overlay
- Partner with account managers and pre-sales teams to strengthen opportunity development and account strategy
- Bring practical mining industry experience into customer discussions, helping connect operational needs to business value
- Help identify, qualify, and advance opportunities related to geology, mine planning, pit optimization, mine design, and resource development
- Engage with customers as a trusted industry peer, particularly in conversations with operational, planning, and leadership stakeholders
- Support positioning of GEOVIA solutions, including Surpac and Whittle, based on customer priorities and business goals
- Contribute to discovery meetings, executive presentations, strategic pursuits, and account planning sessions
- Support pre-sales efforts by helping frame customer use cases, industry relevance, and business outcomes
- Collaborate with sales leadership, marketing, and solution consultants to improve market messaging and industry engagement
- Help identify strategic opportunities to expand GEOVIA’s presence within mining organizations across North America
